The sugar tax debate

The sugar tax debate has been reignited as the Greens propose a 20 per cent tax on sugary drinks.

The Government has rejected the proposal and Labor has refused to support it.

But health authorities who say it would be a step forward in tackling Australia’s obesity crisis.

But is a tax an appropriate way to address the issue of overweight and obesity in Australia?
